Module 3 Overview
In this module, you will learn about the Data Protection Laws. In general, data protection laws provide a legal framework that safeguards individual data, privacy, and user rights. Many countries have adopted general data protection and privacy laws that apply not only to the ID system but to other government or private-sector activities that involve the processing of personal data. The various laws around the world describe the rights of natural persons to control who is using its data. This includes usually the right to get details on which data is stored, for what purpose, and to request the deletion in case the purpose is not given anymore.
